EU C light on vitamin pills

6 April 2005
A BAN on vitamins and other health supplements by European bureaucrats was branded illegal by a top judge yesterday.
An EU directive could have meant thousands, including vitamin C pills, were forced off shelves in August.
But European Court of Justice adviser Leendert Geelhoed has ruled the
law is invalid because it does not say how products can join an approved
list.
The court's final decision is due by July.
